Distribution Channels for Hotels and Accommodation Properties?

SiteMinder, the online hotel channels distribution, has announced it has already completed system changes to allow its hotel customers to take advantage of the doubling of Wotif’s booking window from three to six months.

Wotif, which has a long-standing channel link with SiteMinder, recently announced the update to their site to allow web bookers to reserve rooms six months in advance.

SiteMinder, which is a leading distributor of hotel rooms in Australia and overseas to major online booking sites around the world, said it had already made the technological changes necessary to allow its accommodation clients to accept bookings from Wotif six months ahead.

“This is a critical change for us and, more importantly, our hotel clients so we wanted to ensure they were able to take advantage of Wotif’s move as soon as possible,” said SiteMinder’s General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Gary Fog.

“Wotif’s extended booking window will greatly assist hotels to maximise revenue and assist long-term planning so we wanted to jump on this development as quick as possible.”

Wotif ranked number one last year in revenue produced for online bookings amongst SiteMinder’s portfolio of distribution channels.

Mr Fog said SiteMinder’s internet-based software helps hotels sell their rooms on dozens of accommodation booking sites around the world including Wotif, Expedia, Booking.com and Agoda. “From offices in Sydney and London, SiteMinder’s channel management technology allows accommodation providers to manage room availability and rates across a multitude of online channels from a single web interface. More than 4000 accommodation providers in over 50 countries now use SiteMinder as their preferred solution for online distribution.”
