The worldwide surge in online hotel bookings has seen SiteMinder – a technology business that has built
an industry-standard distribution platform between hotels and online reservation websites – named as one
of Australia’s 100 fastest-growing companies as part of the 2012 BRW Fast 100 List unveiled last night.
Established in 2006, SiteMinder is now a global player in online distribution for accommodation
providers, with more than 7000 hotel customers in 101 countries. SiteMinder was ranked 63rd in
BRW’s prestigious 2012 Fast 100 list, which ranks Australia’s fastest growing small and medium-sized
businesses in both the public and private sectors.
SiteMinder’s international distribution platform delivered its hotel clients just over US$2 billion in
online booking revenue from a record 5.7 million hotel reservations in the 12 months to June 30, 2012.
This was double the revenue figure from the previous year.
SiteMinder’s Managing Director, Mike Ford, who founded the software-as-a-service company in 2006,
said he was delighted that SiteMinder’s rapid growth had been recognised in BRW’s Fast 100 list for
2012.
“Record numbers of people in more countries than ever are now booking accommodation online and
as an online distributor of hotel rooms, SiteMinder is a key enabler for that growth,” Mr Ford said. “In
today’s ever evolving market place, hoteliers today want smarter, faster and more efficient tools to help
them strengthen their bottom line. Our robust technology has helped hoteliers all over the world achieve
this.”
With offices already established in Bangkok, Cape Town, London and Sydney, SiteMinder plans to
continue its international expansion into 2013 and build on its market-leading distribution exchange
platform which is helping to power the online booking boom so that more hotels globally can connect
with online audiences in all corners of the globe.
