Sydney, Australia – Tujia, China’s leading lodging-service sharing and booking platform, today announces it has signed a strategic agreement with SiteMinder, the global hotel industry’s leading cloud platform, to streamline the management of online reservations for users of ‘Tujia WAKA’, the booking platform for Tujia hosts based outside of China.
The partnership involves the integration of the two companies’ technologies to provide a significantly-improved user experience for overseas hosts, including the thousands that are already existing users of both Tujia WAKA and SiteMinder. Through the integration, those hosts will benefit from synchronised, real-time reservations, availability and pricing data.
“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with SiteMinder. This cooperation will bring synergy and mutual benefits to both companies. The setup will be sure to integrate the best prices with the most optimised inventory, reducing the chance of refused or disputed orders by at least ninety percent. Tujia is committed to guaranteeing the satisfaction of our customers, as well as offering an enjoyable online booking experience, and the announcement of this initiative provides a fantastic new contribution to our efforts in this areas,” says the head of Tujia’s overseas division, Xunzhang Huang.
Travellers can face many challenges when trying to book their accommodation online, including differing prices and available listings on different channels, difficulty of access to overseas networks, and overly-simple descriptions of rooms. These challenges are especially true for rooms that are published on more than one distribution channel, a situation which heightens the risks of overbookings and the need for hosts to send cancellations. The partnership between Tujia and SiteMinder ensures reservations made via Tujia WAKA are delivered continuously, to give both hosts and guests an experience that is much more convenient than the status quo.
Speaking on the integrated setup, one host says, “In the past, I had to use two systems to manage my inventory and prices, but now one system fits the bill. Orders can be confirmed in real-time. It saves at least half of my time and the synchronisation that happens in the backend prevents the overselling of rooms. This really feels like a huge step forward for all of us.”
“The rise of travel has created a need for accommodation providers the world over to increase their speed to market and to provide an experience that caters to the changing needs and preferences of every type of consumer. In recent years, few companies have understood this better than Tujia which today offers more than 100,000 property listings that meet the demands of Chinese travellers wherever they are. Our partnership with Tujia is simply about empowering small accommodation providers to tap more deeply into the ever-growing, ever-unique outbound Chinese traveller market, and to compete more efficiently and effectively as those guests search for a place to stay,” says Dai Williams, SVP Global Partnerships at SiteMinder.
