The Atrium Hotel Mandurah hits new heights with SiteMinder’s technology platform

An iconic establishment of 36 years, the Atrium Hotel Mandurah is the perfect coastal getaway. Located less than an hour south of Perth in Western Australia, a recent refurbishment sees the property offer 12 different room types for short and long-term stays.

Blessed with natural lighting the Atrium offers a heated indoor swimming pool, spa, saunas, barista, function rooms, fully licensed bar, restaurant and buffet, free WiFi & parking, tennis courts, and sweeping balcony views. Guests are also thrilled to have all major Mandurah attractions within walking distance, including a boardwalk, beach, and performing arts centre.

A modern hotel needed modern technology

Just as a hotel needs maintenance and upgrades from time to time, so too does the technology behind the scenes to ensure backend processes are as efficient and effective as possible.

This reality prompted Jacob’s search for a new hotel technology system.

‘We needed an all round solution that could cater to all of our requirements in one place,’ he explained.

‘Being responsible for marketing, I was seeking a website platform that offered all the benefits and integrations of a modern system so that we could remain at the cutting edge of marketing technology.’

After already having success with SiteMinder’s channel manager, online booking engine, and property management system integration, Jacob investigated further. Soon, the property was also using the platform’s hotel website design.

‘SiteMinder certainly helped us address our challenges,’ said Jacob. ‘The booking engine and website design’s many integrations in particular have allowed us to deploy, monitor and track third party marketing technology with ease and a seamless user experience. That’s what we really wanted.’

Results to be proud of

In the space of 12 months, Jacob and the team at the Atrium Hotel Mandurah saw some outstanding results using SiteMinder’s website design.

‘We’ve increased bookings at our hotel,’ Jacob explained. ‘There’s been exactly a 153% increase from our previous website.’

‘Profitability is up too, we made an extra $100,000 in our first year of use!’

These results are nothing short of impressive but it didn’t stop there, with Jacob pleasantly surprised by the extent of extra traffic the Atrium started to enjoy online.

‘The increase in website traffic of 225% was unexpected. We more than quadrupled our website traffic, and tripled our direct bookings.’
