Global technology leader SiteMinder opens sleek new office in Galway, gets set to create 100th job

SiteMinder's Official Opening in GalwayGalway, Ireland – Less than four months since announcing its entry into Ireland, the global hotel industry’s leading cloud platform, SiteMinder, is formally opening its sleek new office in Galway as it gets set to reach its target of creating 100 jobs. The company, considered one of the top 20 technology pioneers to come out of Australia, is today holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its waterfront office space in Dockgate with the Mayor of Galway City, Councillor Noel Larkin.

Mayor Larkin says he is proud to join SiteMinder, a company that is delivering on its plan to recruit up to 100 graduates and experienced professionals by the end of the year, at today’s official opening. “This company has made great progress since announcing in August that it was establishing offices here in Galway, already ramping up to almost the full complement of 100 jobs that it announced at that time. It’s great to see SiteMinder now ‘bed in’ with these smart new offices. The addition of this innovative technology company to Galway’s growing technology hub is a huge plus for the city and region. I wish them all future success.”

With support by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation through IDA Ireland, SiteMinder announced its arrival into Galway in August, six years after opening a London office to service EMEA where the greatest proportion of the company’s 23,000 hotel customers are today. SiteMinder said the rampant need for modern hotel technology across the region necessitated the creation of a second local office, in the emerging technology hub of Galway, to support its strong growth trajectory. The company’s presence is already established in Ireland with a reputable customer list that includes Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel and K Club as well as The Connacht Hotel and The g Hotel and Spa in Galway.

Ruairi Conroy, General Manager of SiteMinder in Galway, says, “We are delighted to formally open the doors to what we believe is one of the finest modern office spaces in Galway City centre. SiteMinder remains one of the few technology providers servicing the entire EMEA region from Galway, and we are proud to be an enabler of both internationalisation and exciting career opportunities for local talent. Our commitment to the people and city of Galway is strong as ever.”

Galway is SiteMinder’s sixth office alongside Bangkok, Cape Town, Dallas, London and Sydney.

IDA Ireland’s Divisional Manager of Growth Markets, Eileen Sharpe, says, “These are great new offices for SiteMinder, giving the company space and scope to continue its growth and development here into the future. I have no doubt but that this progressive company will prosper here in Galway’s thriving technology ecosystem. I wish Ruairi and his team continued success here.”
