Large Hotel Group Connects Custom Built PMS to the World via RDX

  Posted in Press Releases

The prestigious Regal Hotels Group, which offers thousands of rooms in Hong Kong, has gained powerful and seamless two-way connectivity with hundreds of online travel agents (OTAs) around the world directly from its custom-built Miro PMS after deploying Room Distribution Exchange (RDX) – SiteMinder’s new, direct connectivity platform.

“Regal Hotels has recognised the importance that online channels play in today’s distribution landscape as well as the importance of providing a full two-way integration between its PMS Miro and the channels,” said SiteMinder’s Sales Manager for Asia, Kevin Tatem. “RDX allows hotel groups such as Regal to build one connection from their custom built PMS or CRS to RDX and gain complete two-way access to the world’s leading booking sites. The move automates and streamlines online distribution for Regal Hotels and will save Regal staff hundreds of hours in manual reservations processing, with the group receiving thousands of bookings every day.”

Mr Tatem said SiteMinder was expanding rapidly in Asia as more groups like Regal Hotels used SiteMinder’s new RDX technology to upgrade and simplify their online distribution.

“Through RDX, Regal Hotels can now link its own PMS network for its six Hong Kong hotels to international reservation sites and thousands of bookings from those sites are now delivered straight back into Regal’s PMS, with no third party intermediaries involved and eliminating the gap between hotel reservation systems and booking channels.” Mr Tatem said.

“It’s very exciting to work with such a prestigious group like Regal Hotels and also very satisfying that we can streamline their online reservation system, freeing their staff to focus on customer service and marketing for what is a major and very successful hotel brand in Asia.”

The six Hong Kong hotels that have partnered with SiteMinder are the 1171-room Regal Airport Hotel, 1138-room Regal Riverside Hotel, the 600-room Regal Kowloon Hotel, the 439-room Regal Oriental Hotel, the 482-room Regal Hong Kong Hotel and the boutique 99-room Regal iClub Hotel.

The Vice President for Sales at Regal Hotels International, Dora Liu, stated: “We expect the OTA market growth trend will continue with consumers becoming increasingly internet savvy.  In today’s competitive market, we truly understand rate parity across all distribution channels is the key element to success.  We found SiteMinder’s inventory management and reservation delivery feature to be the perfect solution for rate and inventory management to maintain rate parity among each distribution channel.”
