Nathan Hotel optimises distribution to drive direct online bookings with SiteMinder

Nathan Hotel is one of Hong Kong’s premier hotels, located in the exciting northern district of Kowloon where shopping, arts, and entertainment abound.

With a rich 48-year history, the Nathan Hotel boasts 189 rooms and caters for every traveller with a unique bar, stunning cellar and modern restaurant.

Rooms range from polished comfort with free wi-fi and flat screen TVs, to upgraded luxurious decor with marble bathrooms, guest lounges and entertainment systems. Suites come complete with a living room.

Guests are welcomed with nothing short of excellent service with a free in-room amenity, ‘handy’, providing them with unlimited local and international calls as well as an in-built city guide. The facilities also include a 24-hour fitness centre, business centre, and tour centre.

Whether guests are there to enjoy the sights or for important business travel, Nathan Hotel provides the ultimate experience.

The Challenge

With a large occupancy and four central classes of rooms, Nathan Hotel was in a position where managing its inventory across multiple OTA channels was becoming increasingly difficult. Being a
popular hotel, not having the ability to immediately update its rooms and rates was a potential handicap for its revenue stream and constant hindrance on staff.

Additionally, the hotel was lacking seamless integration with an online booking engine, meaning it could not accept direct bookings and have an outlet from the OTA commission fees for each booking.

Director of sales, Wenus Chan, knew something had to be done if the business was to remain profitable.

The Solution
